Interview with Ms Adetutu Adeyemi about her 0-3 Diploma journey at MSC
I: Good morning Ma. Please introduce yourself and tell us what you studied at MSC?
Ms T: My name is Mrs Adetutu Adeyemi. I obtained a 3-6 diploma from the MSC and I recently enrolled for the 0-3 diploma because who ever has enough montessori right? *laughs*
I: Was it worth your time and financial investment?
Ms T: Yes and yes.
I: How likely are you to recommend this course to any one?
Ms T: I wonder why everyone will not do it. I am grateful that we have access to this knowledge here in Nigeria and do not need to travel for it.
I: Any specific feedback on your 0-3 trainer ?
Ms T: Vibhuti Jain. She is the real MVP—excellent at her skills, caring, nurturing, devoted, strong, selfless, and committed to seeing you succeed
I: What was your biggest takeaway from the course?
Ms T: What I’ve learned in a nutshell isn’t limited to just these, but they are mind-blowing! I got to experience a child’s development from conception to 3 years old, watching them transition from an unconscious learner to a conscious one. From pregnancy to birth, reflexes, breast crawl, tummy time, slithering, sitting, crawling, pulling up to stand, walking, finding equilibrium, and developing language from “No” to “I” to 50 words and then a vocabulary explosion—it’s a lot! Too much sauce!! Pardon my Naija slang, “Opo!!” its plenty!!!
And then there’s myelination—some people’s hands are free, caudal, and distal. I can’t forget the key concepts: Child-Centered Learning, Prepared Environment, Respect for the Child, Focus on Independence, Developmentally Appropriate Practices, and Parental Involvement.
I: What was the best part of the course?
Ms T: The people I journeyed with. A huge shout out to my wonderful classmates—we were physically and psychologically present, patient with each other, independently carrying out our tasks without prejudices. We made our choices, faced the consequences, managed our emotions, and engaged in self-reflection. We didn’t just stop there; we explored Amala and Ewedu, Masa, Moimoi, and oriented ourselves with our space as we adapted, making it easier to quickly check on who wasn’t around. We were gregarious and repeatedly practiced to achieve exactness after correcting our errors.
I: What would you have loved to have, to support you on your course?
Ms T: A physical environment where all of these theories are in practice. I have always craved for this.
I: Anything else you would like to add?
Ms T: Thank you MSC for bringing this to Nigeria it was absolutely worth it.
I: Thank you so much for your time!
Ms T: Thank you too.
